The city said it would not host the festival on the Parkway in mid July and spurred a piece penned by Jay-Z himself that ran int he Philadelphia Inquirer. The piece needled the decision to move the festival.
However, about a week later city officials and officials from Jay-Z's company Roc Nation met and agreed to continue hosting the festival on the Parkway.
