Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- Rapper and Philadelphia native Meek Mill is spreading the holiday spirit. Mill helped 20 women who were incarcerated to make it back to their families for the holidays by paying the bail they otherwise would not have been able to afford. Mill is a long-time advocate for those he says are impacted by the inequities of the criminal justice system, something the rapper knows personally. (WHP Harrisburg)
- Airlines have canceled thousands of flights in what has become a Christmas nightmare for so many, as winter storms and staffing issues continue to cause havoc across the U.S. That ripple effect from the winter storm that gripped much of the nation last week was still impacting travelers in Philadelphia on Monday. As of 5 p.m. last night, 41 flights had been canceled and dozens of others delayed. Airlines blame the winter weather and staffing issues for the problems. (WPVI-TV)
- Want fries with that buzzcut? The Panache Hair Design in Center City, is where Richard Cornish, now 52, makes a living styling hair. But his volunteer work takes him to Ronald McDonald Houses in Philadelphia. (6abc Philadelphia)
