Multimillion Dollar Bet On Eagles To Win Super Bowl: Report
A multimillion dollar wager has reportedly been placed on the Eagles to win the 2018 Super Bowl. Who could it be?

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A bold gambler is bleeding green in more ways than one in the lead up to the 2018 Super Bowl.
A multimillion dollar wager has reportedly been placed on the Eagles to defeat the New England Patriots and win their first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
The bet is one of the largest bets in recent years in Nevada, MGM's president of race and sports, Jay Rood, told ESPN. The exact amount and nature of the bet, as well as the identity of the gambler, are unknown.

Rood added that he had worked with the bettor before, but declined to provide further details, according to the report.
The bet, which was made at some point at Wednesday, contributed to dropping the Patriots to just 4.5 point favorites to win the game at MGM. They opened as 5.5 point favorites.

VegasInsider.com referred to the bet as a "sonic boom" and predicted a third-straight record setting year of betting at the Super Bowl:
"The first sonic boom Super Bowl bet heard across Las Vegas took place Wednesday afternoon at MGM Resorts where VP of sports book operations Jay Rood confirmed a multi-million dollar wager was placed on the Eagles at +5.5 causing the chain of 10 books on the Las Vegas strip to bypass -5 altogether and go straight to Patriots -4.5, which is the lowest number in town."
Who could the mystery gambler be? There is no shortage of prominent, wealthy names in the sports world that might make such a wager on the Birds. Baseball All-Star and South Jersey native Mike Trout, 76ers All-Star starter Joel Embiid, Philadelphia native and comedian Kevin Hart, and area-native and actor Bradley Cooper are all huge Eagles fans with huge wallets. All four names have been bandied about on social media as possibilities.
Another possibility? NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who is likely loathe to award yet another trophy to the same Tom Brady and the same New England Patriots who tied him up in court over Deflategate.
Kickoff is 10 days away.
