Philly's American Revolution Museum Renames 'Patriots Gallery'
Say goodbye to "Patriot's Gallery," as the Museum of the American Revolution has renamed it "Eagles Gallery" in support of the Birds.

PHILADELPHIA – In the ongoing battle of nixing all-things New England in and around Philadelphia, the Museum of the American Revolution has joined the fight.
The museum, which opened in spring 2017, features a gallery called "Patriots Gallery." But not anymore.
The museum has stricken "Patriots" from the gallery temporarily and renamed it "Eagles Gallery" in a showing of support for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2018 Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.

The gallery will keep the Eagles moniker until the game is over, ideally with the Birds emerging victorious.

Museum officials said underdog stories are nothing new for Philadelphia.
"Philadelphia has loved a good underdog story ever since the Continental Army took on the British Empire during the Revolutionary War (spoiler alert: they won)," a press release on the gallery renaming said.
Anyone wearing Eagles gear can get $2 off museum entry through Feb. 4. The gift shop is also offering a 10-percent discount on all merchandise that is eagle-related (that's the actual bird, not the team).
Eagles Gallery currently features an exhibit called "Among His Troops: Washington’s War Tent in a Newly Discovered Watercolor," which brings together works of art, weapons, and other artifacts from the Revolutionary War to explore the history surrounding a rare eyewitness painting of the Continental Army
While the gallery has been renamed, the museum opted to keep its Boston-centric items – such as the replica of Boston’s Liberty Tree and the Bible carried at the Battle of Bunker Hill – on display, as officials likely think our nation's history is a bit more important than a Super Bowl win.
The museum is located at 101 S. 3rd St. in Philadelphia.
