Passage Bio Announces Inaugural Recipient of Tachi Yamada Scholarship
Passage Bio, Inc., has announced Amy Wu as the inaugural recipient of its Tachi Yamada Scholarship
Philadelphia, PA – May 4, 2022 – Passage Bio, Inc. (Nasdaq: PASG), a clinical-stage genetic medicines company focused on developing transformative therapies for central nervous system (CNS) disorders, has announced Amy Wu, a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, as the inaugural recipient of its Tachi Yamada Scholarship award.
The scholarship honors the legacy of Dr. Tachi Yamada, co-founder and former Chairman of the Passage Bio Board of Directors and is open to students enrolled in life sciences programs at four-year colleges and universities in Pennsylvania who seek a career in the life sciences industry.
Ms. Wu is pursuing both a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Science in Economics through the Roy and Diana Vagelos Program in Life Sciences and Management at the University of Pennsylvania. This dual-degree program is administered jointly between the university’s College of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton School. Ms. Wu has excelled academically from her time at Hershey High School in Hershey, PA through her first two years at Penn and is involved in numerous extracurricular activities. She also will continue to explore her passion for neuroscience research this summer working in a chemistry lab on campus and is considering a medical career.

Dr. Goldsmith presented the award to Ms. Wu during the Life Sciences Pennsylvania Annual Awards dinner yesterday evening. Through the scholarship, Ms. Wu will receive financial assistance towards college-related expenses and will be matched with a Passage Bio mentor for professional growth opportunities over the two-year scholarship period.

Passage Bio first announced its plans to launch the annual Tachi Yamada Scholarship Program in October 2021 to continue the legacy of Tadataka (Tachi) Yamada, M.D., a visionary biopharma industry leader who passed away in August 2021. Dr. Yamada had a life-long devotion to mentoring and building the next generation of scientists.
