Paul Simon Playing Philadelphia Concert In July

The show will be in two parts, opening with the Grammy-nominated "Seven Psalms," before Simon plays hits and deep cuts from his catalog.

PHILADELPHIA — Legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon announced plans for a tour across the United States and Canada this summer, as he extends his "A Quiet Celebration Tour" to include a stop in Philadelphia.

Simon will place the Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia on July 5.

The show will be in two parts, opening with the performance of the Grammy-nominated "Seven Psalms." This 33-minute continuous piece of music was called "quietly stunning...unlike any other Simon album" by Variety and "a stunning achievement from an artist with a career full of them" by Rock Cellar.

After a brief intermission, the show resumes with Simon performing many of his greatest hits and many deep cuts.

The band will include Edie Brickell (vocals), Mark Stewart (guitar), Bakithi Kumalo (bass), Andy Snitzer (saxophone), Jamey Haddad (percussion), Mick Rossi (piano, keys), Gyan Riley (guitar), Matt Chamberlin (drums), Nancy Stagnitta (flute), Caleb Burhans (viola), and Eugene Friesen (Cello).
