Philadelphia Business Warmed Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen On NYE

The Philadelphia-based heated clothing retailer was the true, hidden star of CNN's New Year's Eve broadcast this year.

PHILADELPHIA – Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen hosted CNN's annual New Year's Eve broadcast in frigid New York City, but it was a Philadelphia-based business that was the evening's true, hidden star.

Cooper, in a recent appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, said he and Cohen kept warm by wearing heated garments, courtesy of The Warming Store in Manayunk.

The Warming Store, founded in 2008 and located at 3791 Main St. in Manayunk, specializes in heated clothing, winter apparel, electronic heating, and even gear to keep you cool, according to its website.

Cooper said Cohen, who replaced longtime co-host Kathy Griffin following a photo she posted with a decapitated head of President Donald Trump, was looking to get custom made cold-weather gear for the broadcast.

But Cooper, being the journalist he is, did some research and found the Manayunk-based retailer's wares as a better solution for the cold.

"They sold me the Ferrari of warming gloves, they said," Cooper said. "So, yeah, it was kind of amazing."

The total price tag? $2,900, Cooper told Colbert.

And with cold still gripping the region, some may want to check out the Warming Store's offerings.
