Philadelphia Eateries Donating To Clean Air Group Next Week

Eateries in the area will donate a percent of your bill to the Clean Air Council next week. See if your favorite spot is participating.

PHILADELPHIA – A dozen eateries that are among the Philadelphia area's most sustainable restaurants will be participating in the Clean Air Council's "Dine Out for the Environment" event as next week to raise funds for the Clean Air Council's efforts to improve air quality.

The special dining event will be held throughout the day Thursday, Oct. 12.

The dozen eateries were chosen due to their innovative incorporation of sustainability into their business models. Whether a restaurant builds with repurposed and reused materials, cooks with only sustainably produced ingredients, or streamlines their waste disposal and recycling output, each establishment participating in Dine Out for the Environment contributes to a healthier planet on a daily basis.

The participating Philadelphia-area restaurants will donate 15 percent to 30 percent of their sales to the Clean Air Council as part of the event.

“As Clean Air Council celebrates its 50th anniversary, it’s clear that our work to protect everyone’s right to breathe clean air and promote the health of the environment is more needed than ever,” Joseph Otis Minott, Executive Director and Chief Counsel at the Clean Air Council, said. “We’re thrilled to partner with restaurants that share our commitment to sustainability and we encourage everyone to visit these establishments on October 12. A business lunch, family dinner or even a quick snack during Dine Out for the Environment helps us continue our work advocating for strong environmental policies to protect our environment.”
