Philly Cop Hit By Stolen Vehicle Wednesday Night: Reports

The struck officer was hospitalized briefly after being hit by a stolen vehicle Wednesday night in North Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia Police officer was hospitalized briefly after being struck by a stolen vehicle Wednesday night, according to reports.

The crash happened at about 9:45 p.m. at Front Street and Hunting Park Avenue, according to Action News.

NBC10 reports police were behind a vehicle that was reported stolen in a Sunday Northeast Philadelphia armed robbery when one officer approached the vehicle.

The vehicle reversed, hit the police cruiser, turned right, hit the officer, the drove off before being abandoned on the 1000 block of Ruscomb Street in the Logan neighborhood, according to Fox 29

Authorities said the officer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.
