Philly Gets $2.8M For Community Revitalization

A total of$2.8 million in state funding has been awarded to five different community revitalization projects across Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A total of$2.8 million in state funding has been awarded to five different community revitalization projects across Philadelphia.

Officials said that the projects would help create both additional residential units as well as more commercial-retail space.

"These projects will provide the spark needed to attract additional investment to communities,” Gov. Wolf said in a statement announcing the awards. "The funding approved today will leverage public and private resources in a way that accomplishes the most good from the investment being made."

The five projects that have received funding are listed below. Each received $400,000.

  • 257-263 S. 52nd Street The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation (TEC-CDC) Philadelphia
  • 2125 Ridge Avenue Mosaic Development Partners Philadelphia
  • 2613-2615 West Girard Avenue MM Partners/Fairmount Community Development Corporation Philadelphia
  • 2739 N. 5th Street HACE Philadelphia
  • Mt. Airy Art Garage Mt. Airy USA Philadelphia

The goal of the program is to couple affordable housing with retail and commercial space.

The money comes from the state's Mixed-Use Development Tax Credit Program.
