Philly Italian Eatery Among 2024's Top 100 Restaurants: OpenTable
An Italian restaurant in Eastern Pennsylvania has been named among the 100 top restaurants in America.
PHILADELPHIA — An Italian eatery in Philadelphia has been named among the 100 top restaurants in America in a new ranking.
Saloon Restaurant, located in South Philadelphia, was featured on OpenTable's "2024’s Top 100 Restaurants. It was one of two Pennsylvania spots to make the list. The only other Pennsylvania restaurant to make OpenTable's list was Morcilla in Pittsburgh.
The list is sourced from more than 14 million verified diner reviews and dining metrics from Oct. 1, 2023 to Sept. 30, 2024, according to the restaurant reservation service.

Restaurants with a minimum threshold of diner reviews were considered and evaluated by a compilation of unique data points, including diner ratings, the percentage of five-star reviews, the number of alerts set, the percentage of reservations made in advance, percentage of capacity and direct searches.
Metrics were weighted to generate an overall score that was used to rank the list.

Saloon Restaurant received 4.9 stars from 2,531 reviews on OpenTable. The menu features a range of dishes, including seafood, pasta, steaks and more.
OpenTable reviewers call the restaurant "top notch" and highlighted the delicious food coupled with a convenient location. Service was reported as being friendly, and the drinks were "spot on."
