He was taken into custody at about 12:30 p.m.

He was taken to the Cambridge Police Department for processing and was charged as a "Fugitive of Justice" at the Cambridge District Court.

"The decisive actions of our United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and our law enforcement partners quickly and safely resolved the situation, preventing further violence," said Eric Gartner, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Panjrolia is accused of shooting his father, Mahendra B. Panjrolia, 60, in a home on the 1900 block of Conwell Avenue in Bustleton on Aug. 3 at about 9:31 p.m.

Sohan Panjrolia was arrested shortly after the university sent out a warning to students to stay in place.

He previously attended Harvard University and an initial investigation indicated he might be in the Harvard Square area, police said. It's not clear where police took him into custody.

Police found Mahendra B. Panjrolia in the living room area suffering from a significant gunshot wound to the head in the home.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:35 p.m.

Police determined Sohan Panjrolia was in the home as well as the victim's wife.

Sohan Panjrolia went to the home's second floor and got an assault rifle, police said.

He went into a first floor bathroom and fired one round, then left the bathroom. Police said he then pointed the gun at his parents, and fired several shots at his father, hitting him in the head, police said.

Sohan Panjrolia left the home, still armed, in his 1999 gray Toyota Camry. The vehicle was located several blocks away.
