Philly Man Dies After Being Hit By Truck In South Jersey: Authorities

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia man was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday night on Interstate 295 in Gloucester County, authorities said.

Troopers responded to the crash, which killed Jair Reyes-Garcia, 25, of Philadelphia, at 10:41 p.m. on I-295 south at milepost 13, according to State Police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Ram pickup truck was traveling southbound when the vehicle hit Reyes-Garcia, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesperson. Reyes-Garcia died from his injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

It's unclear whether Reyes-Garcia was crossing the street or walking up the roadway. No additional information on this incident is available, Lebron told Patch on Thursday morning.
