Philadelphia is among the top 15 highest (and not elevation) cities in the world, according to a study from the Center for Advancing Health.
PHILADELPHIA — The smell of marijuana smoke has become common across Philadelphia, even eclipsing the smell of tobacco smoke.
Despite cannabis still being illegal in Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, residents are toking up at a very high (pun intended) rate.
That's according to The Center for Advancing Health.

The group released its 2023 Cannabis Global Price Index recently, listing the cities across the globe that consume the most weed.
"We examined the top and bottom cannabis-consuming nations to choose the study cities," the study says. "Then, we looked at countries where marijuana is partially or fully legal, as well as those where it is not, and chose the final list of 140 cities to give the best comparison of the global price of cannabis."

Philadelphia, with all factors considered, came in at No. 15 for overall cannabis consumption.
The study shows Philadelphians consume 10.6 tons of weed annually.
A gram of the drug costs $11.30 on average in Philadelphia, according to the study, putting it at No. 33 in the marijuana price index.
While still technically illegal, Philadelphia has ostensibly legalized marijuana consumption and possession by way of the District Attorney's Office declining to prosecute low-level marijuana offenses.
The study's findings show the following cities across the world as the weed-smokingest:
- New York
- Sydney, Australia
- Los Angeles
- Chicago
- Rome, Italy
