Philly Offices Closed, Services Curtailed For New Year's Day

Happy New Year, Philly!

PHILADELPHIA – Welcome, 2019. With the New Year's Day holiday Tuesday, the City of Philadelphia is closing its offices and curtailing services.

Trash and recyclables will not be collected on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams urges residents whose normal collection is on Tuesday to set out their rubbish and recycling for collection on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Trash and recycling collections will be one day behind schedule for the remainder of the week.

All City District Health Centers are closed on Tuesday, as are all branch offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections; the North and Northeast Municipal Service Centers; the Marriage License Bureau; all Philadelphia Parks & Recreation facilities; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations branch, at 9th and Filbert streets.City offices will reopen on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
