Philly Offices Closing, Collections Shift For Christmas
Philadelphia residents will have their trash and recycling collected one day later than normal due to the holiday.
PHILADELPHIA — Christmas is here, and that means the City of Philadelphia will suspend its collections and close offices.
All city offices will be closed on Dec. 25 for the holiday.
Trash and recyclables will not be collected Wednesday as well. Residents who have collection on Wednesday should set out their trash and recycling for collection on Thursday evening after 5 p.m. for collection. Trash and recycling collections will be one day behind schedule for the remainder of the week.

All City District Health Centers are closed on Christmas Day, as are the district offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections (L&I); the L&I License and Permit Center at the Municipal Services Building; the Marriage License Bureau; all Philadelphia Parks and Recreation facilities and gated parking lots; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches; and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations Branch at 9th and Filbert streets.
The Philadelphia Parking Authority also will not be enforcing meters, kiosks, or residential parking time limits on Christmas Day.

All Philadelphia Department of Prisons facilities will be open to visitors on Christmas Day. Executive offices will be closed.
City offices will reopen on Thursday, Dec. 26.
