'Philly Phreeze' Cold Water Plunge To Support Public Pools
Saturday's polar plunge fundraiser will raise money in support of Philadelphia's public pools and lifeguards.
PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphians are invited to take a chilly dip in a pool in support of the city's public pools and lifeguards Saturday.
The Kelly Pool, at 4231 Lansdowne Drive, is hosting the first-ever Philly Phreeze.
Philly Phreeze will see residents taking a polar plunge into the pool.

The frigid dips into the pool will take place at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
Among those taking the plunge are Councilmember Curtis Jones Jr. and State Sen. Jimmy Dillon.

Over the past several weeks, Phreeze sponsors and participants have donated more than $40,000 to support hiring bonuses for the city’s public pool lifeguards.
The fundraiser will continue through June 1, 2023, and donations can be made online here.
