Philly Rapper Meek Mill Gets Drug, Gun Pardon From Gov Tom Wolf

PHILADELPHIA — Outgoing Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf recently granted the most pardons in the commonwealth's history, and among those pardoned is a prominent Philadelphia rapper.
Wolf granted 369 pardons this week.
Philadelphia's most famous rapper Meek Mill was one of them.

Born Robert Rameek Williams, the 35-year-old rapper's gun and drug charges from 2008 were pardoned, Action News reports.
A pardon constitutes total forgiveness by the state for a criminal conviction, regardless of whether the sentence included time in prison, and allows for expungement of the related criminal record, according to Wolf's office.

In total, the Wolf administration has granted 2,540 pardons, the most pardons granted by a governor in the history of Pennsylvania.
The prior record was 1,122, granted by former Gov. Ed Rendell.
