Philly Shootout Hurts 1, Nearly Hurts Woman In Bed: Reports

Authorities said 17 shots were fired at about 2 a.m. at North 6th Street and West Lehigh Avenue during a shootout.

PHILADELPHIA — One woman was struck by gunfire and another was nearly struck when a shootout erupted in Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred at about 2 a.m. at North 6th Street and West Lehigh Avenue, according to NBC10.

Officers who showed up found a 35-year-old woman in the middle of the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, Fox 29 reports. She is in stable condition.

Action News reports one shot fired went through the window of a second-story apartment, nearly striking a sleeping woman.

Authorities found 17 spent shell casings from at least two separate firearms at Lehigh Avenue and North Marshall Street.

Police have not made any arrests or recovered any weapons in connection with the shooting.
