Philly Teams Donate $50K To Trust For I-95 Truck Driver's Daughter
While reopening Interstate 95 is cause for celebration, we cannot forget the crash led to the death of a beloved father from New Jersey.
PHILADELPHIA — In less than two weeks, the collapsed and demolished portion of Interstate 95 was reopened via a temporary highway.
But while we cheer on the laborers, engineers, and others who made it possible to resume traffic, we must still keep in mind that the instigating crash took a life.
Nathaniel "Nate" Moody, 53, died in the crash.

The Flyers, Eagles, Phillies, 76ers, and Union organizations have made a collective $50,000 donation to build a trust for his daughter, according to officials.
"He wanted to raise his girl to know what a good Dad was, to know what a hardworking Dad was," his cousin Isaac Moody told Fox 29. "He didn't drink, he didn't smoke, he damn-sure didn't use any drugs."
In addition to the teams' donations, more than $40,000 has been raised by a GoFundMe campaign to support his family.
According to the GoFundMe page, his daughter is 7 and "adored playing with her dad after school."
"Please give whatever you can — a donation, a reshare, kind words or a prayer — to help provide some stability and support to the family in the months to come," the page reads.
