Philly Trash, Recycling Collection Shifting For Labor Day
Additionally, all City of Philadelphia offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of Labor Day.

PHILADELPHIA – With Monday being Labor Day, the City of Philadelphia will see some changes to its services and buildings.
On Monday, Sept. 4, Labor Day itself, trash and recycling will not be collected, according to the city.
Residents whose trash is normally collected Monday should put their materials out on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Trash and recycling will be one day behind all week, according to the city.
All city offices will be closed Monday, as well.

This includes:
- all City District Health Centers;
- all branch offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections;
- the North and Northeast Municipal Service Centers;
- the Marriage License Bureau;
- all Department of Recreation facilities;
- the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches;
- and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations branch, at 9th and Filbert streets.
City offices will reopen and on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
