Philly Ukrainian Group Raising Funds For War Victims

PHILADELPHIA — A Russian forces invade Ukraine, local Ukrainians are banding together to support victims of the war.

Philadelphia's United Ukrainian American Relief Committee for a fundraiser that will provide humanitarian aid to victims.

"With millions of potential victims in Ukraine, UUARC is fundraising to provide vital medical supplies to victims, care for the injured and refugees, as well as shelter and food to those affected," organizers wrote on a GoFundMe campaign page for the effort.

As of Monday afternoon, more than $122,000 has been raised by bout 1,1000 donors.

The group has a donation goal of $2.5 million.

According to GoFundMe, the organization also played a pivotal role in helping resettle more than 70,000 refugees in the United States.

In addition to the GoFundMe campaign, donations can be made directly to Philadelphia's United Ukrainian American Relief Committee.

United Ukrainian American Relief Committee Inc. was established in 1944 and is a non-profit organization recognized by the IRS under Article 501(c)3.

Donations to the group are tax-deductible, and the donors get acknowledgement for their donations.
