Philly's COVID Positive Testing Percent Lowest Since Mid December
The most recent data from the city also shows the number of hospitalizations and COVID patients on ventilators are dropping still.
PHILADELPHIA — Data on the coronavirus in Philadelphia is trending in a positive direction, according to the latest data.
Data released Monday shows the percent of positive tests in the city is the lowest it's been since mid-December.
Over the past two weeks, 7.7 percent of coronavirus tests have come back positive in the city.

That marks the lowest percent of positive tests since Dec. 5, which saw a two-week percent positive rate of 5.4 percent. On Dec. 12, that figure went up to 7.8 percent.
Philadelphia is averaging 581 new cases per day over the last two weeks.

Coronavirus-specific hospitalizations and ventilator use are also down in the city.
The latest data shows 743 coronavirus patients are being treated in Philadelphia hospitals, 77 of those are on ventilators.
To date, 266,876 Philadelphians have been diagnosed with coronavirus, and 4,474 have died from the virus.
Over the weekend, the city broke 3 million doses of coronavirus vaccines being administered
These doses were administered in just 13 months.
"I am incredibly proud that over three million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been distributed in Philadelphia since January 2021," Mayor Jim Kenney said. "Every dose increases our protection against this virus, and takes us a step closer to the end of this pandemic. Every week tens of thousands of doses are administered, and I want to say thank you to the health workers and partners who have sustained this effort for more than a year now. And thank you to all of our residents who are vaccinated. The best way to protect yourself from COVID-19 is to ensure that you are up to date on your vaccine schedule. That includes getting your booster shot if you’re eligible."
The total number of fully vaccinated Philadelphians is at least 978,793, and the number of Philadelphians with at least one dose of vaccine is at least 1,192,694.
78.8 percent of Philadelphia adults are fully vaccinated, and more than 95 percent of Philadelphia adults have received at least one dose of vaccine.
Of kids 5 to 11 years old in Philadelphia, 46.4 percent have received at least one vaccine dose.
Among eligible Philadelphians ages 12 and older, 73 percent are fully vaccinated, and 89 percent have received at least one dose.
