Police Preparing For Chaos After Phillies NLCS Game Saturday

The Phillies play the Padres Saturday in game four of the Nation League Championship Series, and police are urging businesses to prepare.

PHILADELPHIA — As the Philadelphia Phillies make a potentially historic run for the World Series, Philadelphia Police are preparing for chaos and are urging businesses to do so as well.

The Phillies will play the San Diego Padres Saturday at Citizens Bank Park for game four of the National League Championship Series.

As of Thursday, the series is tied 1-1 and the Phils will welcome the Padres Friday and Saturday to South Philadelphia.

Police in the 15th district preemptively warned businesses of potential unruly celebrations.

In a letter to the community, police said businesses in the area of Frankford and Cottman avenues to secure their properties Saturday.

Bar owners are urged to serve drinks in plastic cups rather than glasses, and are discouraged from selling drinks in glass bottles.

Police said they will be enforcing open container laws.

Additionally, residents have been warned to put any removable items such as flower pots and trash cans away Saturday.

Police said residents and businesses with cameras should have them on.

There will also be no parking along portions of Frankford, Cottman, and Ryan avenues.

Starting at 3 p.m. Friday, no parking signs will be posted on the 7100, 7200, and 7300 blocks of Frankford Avenue; on the 3500 and 4000 blocks of Cottman Avenue; and on the 3500 block of Ryan Avenue.

These parking restrictions will be in effect through 3 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
