Porch Pirates Make Philly The No 2 Package Theft City, Report Says

SafeWise.com released findings of a new report that listed the cities in which porch pirates are the most prevalent. Philly was No. 2.

PHILADELPHIA — As countless Philadelphia residents await package deliveries ahead of the holidays, a new report shows the city is the second-worst in terms of package thefts.

SafeWise.com recently released its list of the worst metro cities for package thefts.

The ranks were generated using results from SafeWise's own 2024 Package Theft Survey.

Philadelphia was No. 2 on the list, behind only New York City.

According to SafeWise, the value lost from stolen packages in Philadelphia in 2024 is about $445 million.

The number of package theft incidents was 4,188,469 in 2024, the report shows.

The report also shows 561 package theft incidents per capita.

  5. Houston
  6. Atlanta
  7. Charlotte
  8. Dallas-Fort Worth
