Mayor Jim Kenney, a frequent critic of Trump, said patrols have been bolstered around the center and the city is working with the Secret Service.

He said one large protest is planned, as well as a few smaller protests. Kenney said the protests will be monitored so "people can express their First Amendment rights and be safe."

Kenney said presidential visits are frustrating due to the costs incurred by the city, none of which are reimbursed.
