Road Closures, Route For Blue Cross Broad Street Run In Philly
The route has changed this year because of planned construction in the Navy Yard along League Island Boulevard.
PHILADELPHIA — The city of Philadelphia has announced the race route and subsequent road closures for the annual Blue Cross Broad Street Run.
The route has changed this year because of planned construction in the Navy Yard along League Island Boulevard, and runners will veer off Broad Street twice near City Hall and the Stadium District. The race will end on Pattison Avenue, 0.2 miles west of Broad Street, the city says. Click here for more information.
Phased road closures for the race will begin at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, and include:

- 3:30 a.m. Broad Street, Olney to Windrim Avenue
- 4:00 a.m. Packer Avenue to Pattison Avenue; between Broad Street and Penrose Avenue
- 7:00 a.m. Broad Street closure will begin from Windrim Avenue to North Access Road (1 block south of Pattison Avenue)
- 7:00 a.n. Exit #349, both directions on the Schuylkill Expressway, I-76; eastbound (to 1400 Curtin Street; and Broad Street); and westbound (to 1300 Pollock Street; and Broad Street)
The nation's largest 10-mile road race is now in its 41st year, with about 18,800 people signed up. Runners must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination to participate in person, and there is a virtual race as well.
Runners are required to wear a mask at the start line and finish line. All volunteers must also wear a mask. Spectators are encouraged to cheer from home, and Cheer Zones have been suspended for this year's race.

The Health and Wellness Expo, open to runners only, is Friday, October 8 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday, October 9 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. In-person runners must visit the expo at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Hall F, to pick up their packet. Click here for more information.
