Roosevelt Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Northeast Philadelphia recently hosted a Farm to Table event, welcoming its neighbors including Northeast Adult Day Care. As part of its ongoing initiative to support the local community, the skilled nursing center provided each attendee with a filled-to-the-top bag of fresh summer produce.

“Supporting our Northeast community is vitally important to all of us here at Roosevelt,” said Abigail Selman, LNHA, administrator. “We were delighted to welcome our neighbors, including Northeast Adult Day Care, and look forward to continuing to partner with them.” Roosevelt’s recent outreach efforts also included hosting a Kona Ice truck for some summer fun for the City of Philadelphia’s Northeast Older Adult Center. Later this month, Roosevelt will host a community block party (Saturday, Aug. 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

Located at 7800 Bustleton Ave., Roosevelt provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. The 240-bed center recently completed a multi-million-dollar modernization. Project highlights include the addition of an expansive rehab therapy gym incorporating a spacious activities of daily living (ADL) suite as well as the introduction of Lexington Renal, an in-facility dialysis unit offering in-patient and out-patient services.
