The late great pitcher will be inducted to the Phillies Wall of Fame in August, the team announced Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA – Roy Halladay, the late great hurler whose legendary no hitter in Game 1 of the 2010 National League Division Series helped the Phillies reach the National League Championship Series, will be inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame later this year, the team announced Tuesday.
According to the team, Halladay, as well as Phillies front office staple Pat Gillick, will be inducted to the Wall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 4 when the Phillies take on the Miami Marlins.
The induction ceremony will be held at 7:05 p.m. before the game begins.

Not only will Halladay be inducted to the wall (he will be one of four Phillies inducted into the Wall of Fame without a fan vote, joining Charlie Manuel, Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton), a flag with his No. 34 will fly at Citizens Bank Park for the 2018 season as a tribute to Halladay's contributions to the team.
Halladay, 40, tragically died Tuesday, Nov. 7 when his small plane crashed into the ocean near New Port Richey, Florida.
He joined the Phillies in 2010 and retired from the MLB in 2013 while still with the club.
During his tenure with the Phils, he recorded a perfect game against the Marlins and threw a no hitter against the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of the National League Division Series.
"Braden, Ryan and I are so honored to have Roy remembered in this way," Halladay's wife Brandy Halladay said in a statement. "He will be in great company with other Phillies legends who are on the Wall of Fame. The decision made by the Phillies to induct Roy without a fan vote makes it even more meaningful. I look forward to fans and the community coming out to celebrate this special occasion with us."
Gillick, who is in his 13th year with the Phillies, will be named the first executive inductee into the Wall of Fame.
"The decision to honor Pat Gillick as the inaugural executive on the Wall of Fame was a unanimous one for the Phillies," Buck said. "Pat's illustrious career and impact on the game is one to be celebrated with fans, and we look forward to recognizing his amazing contributions to baseball on this historic day."
Gillick has served as the team's general manager and president, and also as a senior advisor.
