SEPTA Adjusting Certain Routes For Presidential Debate In Philadelphia

Buses will not stop at Market Street stops from Fifth to Seventh streets in both directions due to fencing blocking the sidewalks.

PHILADELPHIA — SEPTA will be altering some of its routes Tuesday due to the presidential debate at the National Constitution Center.

Due to road closures, several SEPTA bus routes will be detoured from their normal routes beginning early Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning.

Buses will not stop at Market Street stops from Fifth to Seventh streets in both directions due to fencing blocking the sidewalks.

The Market-Frankford Line will stop at the Fifth Street Station, but only on the east side. The west side will be closed.

SEPTA personnel will be on location all day to direct riders and monitor crowds.

Street closures will be in effect from Arch to Market Streets, between Fourth and Seventh streets. Vehicles and pedestrians will be allowed on Fourth and Market streets.

The Sixth Street exit of I-676 eastbound will close Tuesday morning; I-676 westbound is expected to remain open.

Arch and Race streets will be closed for the duration of the event and until the area is cleared.

Access to eastbound lanes for the Ben Franklin Bridge from I-676 into New Jersey closes after rush hour Tuesday afternoon. Westbound I-676 lanes into Philadelphia will remain open.
