SEPTA Regional Rail Paper Ticket Sales Stop Friday: What To Know

PHILADELPHIA — Come Friday, Regional Rail riders will no longer have the option to use paper tickets.

SEPTA is phasing out its Regional Rail paper tickets, and all paper ticket sales will end Friday.

This includes single trip tickets and 10 trip ticket strips.

While paper ticket sales are ending, they will still be accepted through the valid date stamped on the back.

The phasing out of paper tickets comes as SEPTA launches the SEPTA Key Card Travel Wallet feature for Regional Rail.

SEPTA Key Cards provide a contactless way to pay fares. Travel Wallet funds never expire and always offer the lowest price fare option whenever traveling on Regional Rail lines.

Key Cards are available at all SEPTA Sales Offices, including outlying station Ticket Offices.

Riders can also protect Travel Wallet funds in the event cards are ever lost or stolen by registering Key Cards them.

The $4.95 purchase cost will be credited back to cards when registering it within 30 days of purchase.
