SEPTA Suspended As Philadelphia Faces Up To 10 Inches Snow, Sleet And Ice

Some Metro routes will continue to run.

PHILADELPHIA — SEPTA is suspending all Regional Rail, bus and Metro G1 service Sunday afternoon as the Philadelphia area faces up to 10 inches of snow followed by freezing rain.

The suspensions will begin at 2 p.m., according to SEPTA. T1 service was already suspended with the remaining T lines operating on reduced service. Metro routes L, B, D and M will continue to run.

“The B and L are the best options for riders during severe winter storms,” SEPTA said in a bulletin about the storm.

The D1/D2 bus substitution for Sunday has been cancelled.

Mid-day shuttle busing for the Fox Chase Line has been cancelled for Monday, scheduled to resume on Tuesday.

The T line trolleys have been on planned diversion to 40th and Market streets as of 10 p.m. Friday until at least 5 a.m. Monday.

Philadelphia is expected to get 6-10 inches of snow and sleet Sunday, turning to freezing rain and sleet overnight, with an overnight ice accumulation of up to 0.2 inches possible and sleet accumulation of less than half an inch possible, according to the National Weather Service.
