Low visibility due to wildfire smoke from Canada had inbound flights to the Philadelphia International Airport in holding patterns.

PHILADELPHIA — Air travelers coming to Philadelphia may be experiencing delays due to low visibility in the region.

According to the Philadelphia International Airport, low visibility due to wildfire smoke in the region put inbound flights into holding patterns.

However, at about 9:40 a.m., the airport said the ground stop had been lifted.

At about 8:40 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said it paused flights from the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Ohio bound for the Philadelphia International Airport due to low visibility.
