Some Metered Parking Enforcement Resumes In Philly

Metered parking in Center City and University City will be enforced again after enforcement was suspended in mid March due to coronavirus.

PHILADELPHIA — After months of not enforcing most parking violations, the Philadelphia Parking Authority is resuming some of its enforcement activities.

The PPA will now start enforcing metered parking in Center City and University City, the authority said.

Enforcement of meters, kiosks, and residential parking time limits was suspended back in mid March due to the coronavirus outbreak in the city.

While metered parking in Center City and University city has resumed, the PPA will not enforcement residential parking time limits just yet.

However, vehicles that double-park, have loading zone violations, and block entranceways or crosswalks will be ticketed.
