Stray Bullet Hits Man In Head Thursday Afternoon In Philly: Reports

A 35-year-old man is in stable condition after police said a shootout likely occurred on his block, and a stray round struck his head.

PHILADELPHIA — A man was shot in the back of the head by a stray bullet Thursday afternoon in Philadelphia, according to reports.

It happened at about 4:35 p.m. on the 6200 block of Wheeler Street, NBC10 reports.

Officers who responded to the scene found a 35-year-old man who was bleeding from the back of his head in his own home, according to Fox 29.

Police said a shootout may have taken place down the block, leading to the man being injured.

Investigators found empty shell casings of two different caliber firearms at the scene, police said.
