Target Hiring For Soon-To-Be-Open Philadelphia Location

A new Philly Target location is set to open in October, but before it opens it needs workers. Hiring events are being held in August.

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia is set to get another small-format Target store in October, but before the new store opens, it needs workers. And Target is hosting several hiring events in the city to staff the new store.

The new Philly small-format store, located at Broad and Washington, will hold hiring events Aug. 9 and Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 11 at The Bellevue Hotel, 200 S. Broad St. in Philadelphia.

"Target provides meaningful work and opportunities to build and develop skills that will span every team members’ entire career," Jennifer Yaksich, store team leader, Target, said. "Our Broad and Washington store is searching for 75 new team members who are committed to providing guests with the best shopping experience possible, while working alongside a world-class team."

Target is also hiring for its Devon store Aug. 16 through Aug. 18 at the Radnor Hotel, 591 Lancaster Ave. in St. Davids.

These two stores mark the sixth and seventh small-format Target stores in the Philadelphia area.

Nationwide, Target has prioritized opening small-format stores to serve guests in urban areas, dense suburban neighborhoods and near college campuses with an experience that is tailored to meet their local needs.

The new Philly store will offer a selection of health and beauty products, a curated assortment of men’s and women’s apparel and accessories, baby care items, home décor, and a food and beverage selection that includes fresh grab-and-go items.

Additionally, more stores in Ardmore and Haddon Township, and more will open in 2018 and 20219.

Target offers market competitive wages to its team members in cities across the country and recently increased its minimum hourly wage and also offers various education benefits including tuition and GED reimbursement, to support team members’ continuous learning as they build skills for a lifetime.

Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the Target website here to apply in advance of the job fair date, and can also apply in person each day.

Store leaders will conduct pre-scheduled interviews with applicants and discuss Target’s dynamic, team-oriented culture.

Target's small-format store assortments are tailored to meet the needs of local guests. The retailer is on track to operate 130 small-format stores by the end of 2019, serving new guests in communities and neighborhoods where a traditional-sized Target store may not fit. Guests who shop Target's existing small-format stores open around the country have responded well to having these customized shopping experiences available in their neighborhoods.
