Tax Increase In Tredyffrin, Easttown Grows Nearer In New TESD Budget

The Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board Wednesday moved ahead with its preliminary proposed 2026-27 budget, which features a tax increase.

TREDYFFRIN-EASTTOWN, PA — Property owners in Tredyffrin and Easttown townships may be paying more in real estate taxes in the future, as the Tredyffrin/Easttown Board of School Directors adopted its 2026-27 preliminary budget that includes an increase in taxes.

At its meeting Wednesday, the board authorized the district to publish notice of the intent to file for referendum exceptions to the Act 1 index of 3.5 percent.

The proposed budget would increase the current millage rate from 29.6567 mills to 31.1143 mills. That would result in an average increase of $350 by way of a 4.66 percent tax increase, documents show. The district said its average tax increase over the past five years has been 3.5 percent.

As it stands, the budget features $187.7 million in revenues and $202.7 in expenditures. Without any revenue adjustments, that results in a $14.9 million deficit.

The board will not vote on a property tax rate for 2026-27 until its June 8 meeting.
