Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- What's the worst thing that could happen to a 13-year-old girl visiting her great aunt in Philadelphia? Unfortunately, the innocent teen became another statistic in a city riddled with gun violence. As she sat in her aunt's living room, bullets tore through the front window and struck the teen in the shoulder. She was rushed to the hospital and is in stable condition. (nbcphiladelphia.com)
- The Girard Station on 1200 North Broad Street was the scene of yet another violent attack on SEPTA's subway. Two men were fighting on the platform until one man stabbed the other man in the neck. This is all too recent as last week, two stabbings and a shooting occurred on SEPTA stations and routes prompting riders and citizens to wonder if Philadelphia's public transit system is safe for commuters and students. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- A 55-year-old man was surprised by a home intruder who forced his way in the back door of the South Philadelphia home. It happened on Monday evening around 10 p.m. and although nothing was taken from the home, the resident was shot twice in the back before the intruder fled. (Philadelphia, PA Patch)

According to Philly Voice, "Good Dog Bar Atlantic City, set to open next month, is hosting its inaugural dog photo contest through March 1. The contest, which the bar has hosted for years at its original Philadelphia location, asks pet lovers in the region to submit the best photos of their canine friends for chances to win prizes."
