Teen Shot After Robbery Attempt With Toy Gun In Philadelphia: Reports

A 16-year-old boy who was armed with a toy gun was shot by the person he targeted in a robbery attempted Sunday night in Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA — A would-be robber was shot by his target Sunday night in Philadelphia, according to reports.

It all unfolded at about 11:03 p.m. Sunday on the 2200 block of Emerald Street in Kensington, Action News reports.

The attempted robber, 16 years old, came up to a 21-year-old man on the street, pressed a fake gun into the man's back, and announced the robbery, according to NBC10.

According to Fox 29, the victim pulled out his own, legally owned firearm, and shot the teen in the leg.

The teen was taken to a hospital for treatment, and police are searching for a second suspect.
