Security Checkpoint Changes Announced At Philadelphia Airport
Restricted funding for the Department of Homeland Security is having impacts in Philly.

The airport characterized the closure, which began Thursday, as "temporary."
Officials said they are hopeful it will "help optimize operations across other checkpoints."

When those checkpoints reopen may depend on the timeline of DHS funding, which has become a hotly charged issue amid President Trump's ongoing immigration crackdown. It's not yet clear when a resolution on that funding debate may be reached.
Philly had previously shut down other security checkpoints back in November during a separate government funding pause. All security checkpoints were ultimately opened in time for the holiday travel blitz.

While no such rush is expected in the immediate future at the airport, there will certainly be busy periods by the summer, with several major events planned for the nation's semiquincentennial celebrations.
With Terminal C's checkpoint shut down, TSA PreCheck passengers can use the PreCheck lanes at the Terminal A-East and Terminal D/E checkpoints.
Once past security, all terminals are connected.
