🌱 Theo Is Found! + Amen, Another Candidate + Women Attacked Downtown
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Philadelphia.

Hello, everybody! I'm here with your Monday edition of the Philadelphia Daily. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about what's happening in town these days, including updates on:
- After being stolen at a Wawa, Theo the dog is back home safe.
- State Representative Amen Brown is expected to declare his candidacy for mayor.
- Women are being brutally attacked in Center City Philadelphia — by another woman.
But first, today's weather:
Mostly sunny. High: 51 Low: 34.
Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- It seemed like every dog lover in Philadelphia was looking for Theo, the dog stolen from a Wawa parking lot on November 15. Well, after 18 heart wrenching days of searching for the dog, he is finally home safe. Hundreds of volunteers, thousands of posters and social media posts, a drone camera and a hefty reward all helped get him back home to Fishtown. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- Does State Representative Amen Brown have a prayer to become the next mayor of Philly? Well, financial backer Marty Burger, a NYC real estate developer, seems to think so as he broke the news this weekend at the Pennsylvania Society in New York City. Brown, introduced a tough-on-crime bill to establish new mandatory minimums for gun offenders- a hot button topic of next year's mayoral race. (inquirer.com)
- A second victim has come forward to say she was brutally attacked by another woman in Center City Philadelphia. Both victims are young college-aged women who police say are being punched, kicked and assaulted at random. These unprovoked attacks happened in Center City's Broad and Spruce Streets and then on Septa's Market Frankford Line at 15th and Market Streets. (6abc Philadelphia)
Today in Philadelphia:
- Valerie Morrison - Psychic Radio Show - Call Free Question (7:00 PM)
- Instrumental Christmas Concert - Keystone Academy Charter School (7:30 PM)
- Sixers vs. Rockets @ Misconduct Tavern (8:00 PM)
From my notebook:
- If the rumors are true, A Philly POPS Christmas returns to the Kimmel Center for final season. Try and grab some tickets to this wonderful Philadelphia holiday tradition that features sing-a-longs, Christmas Classics and even Santa stops by for some harmonics. This could be a story from the Ghost of Christmases Past. (6abc Philadelphia)
- Check out this deep dive from MSN about Philadelphia's Chinatown neighborhood vowing to fight the Philadelphia 76ers proposed basketball arena in their backyard. Right now, there are only about 50 authentic Chinatown meccas in major U.S. cities and that number keeps decreasing with big developmental projects. (msn.com)
- ACCT Philly: "We're excited to participate in BISSELL Pet Foundation's #EmptyTheShelters Home for the Holidays event, so today through Sunday, December 11, ALL adoption fees are $10 whether it's a dog🐶, cat🐱or critter🐰🐹! We currently have every kennel full, with over 100 dogs in the building, and more than 50 cats and more guinea pigs and rabbits then we can count - we have no more cage space for critters after 14 guinea pigs came in this morning (ACCT Philly via Facebook)
- Revenge is best served in a lopsided Eagles win against the team that traded you! Without knowing exactly what went on behind the scenes, we can safely say that the Titans trading A.J. Brown was one of the dumbest NFL moves of the last 10 years. Crossing Broad has a great piece on A.J. Brown Revenge Game – 25 Immediate Takeaways from Eagles 35, Titans 10. (Crossing Broad)
