Phillies, Smashing Pumpkins, Temple Could Cause Traffic Woes
A confluence of sports and music events in South Philadelphia Friday will create havoc on roads in and around the sports complexes.

PHILADELPHIA — It's safe to say nearly all of Philadelphia is excited about the Phillies' playoff berth, but game three of the National League Championship Series is happening concurrently with two other major events in South Philadelphia, setting up the perfect traffic storm.
The Phillies will take on the San Diego Padres at 7:37 p.m. Friday.
But just before that, Temple University football is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. against Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Lincoln Financial Field.

And to pile on, The Smashing Pumpkins are set to play the Wells Fargo Center at 6:30 p.m.

Fans of either team or the band should make plans to get to South Philadelphia with heavy traffic in mind.
SEPTA is always an option for the driving-averse fans.
The transit authority recently announced it is expanding Broad Street Line service during Phillies games.
SEPTA will supplement regular service to NRG Station with five Express and two Local trains leaving Fern Rock Transportation Center beginning at 6:11 p.m.
