Philly Trump Rally In Support Of President Meets Anti-Trump Protesters (UPDATES)

The MAGA March was met with a counter rally Saturday morning at Independence Hall.

Update: Anti-Trump protesters and pro-Trump marchers clashed at the rally being held in support of President Donald Trump in Philadelphia Saturday, though so far the demonstrations have remained peaceful.

SEPTA Transit police chief Thomas Nestel provided update on the march. While some anti-Trump protesters used smoke bombs, Nestel said that the group was vocal but peaceful. It also appears that the Anti-Trump protesters have caused the pro-Trump protesters to change their mind about marching.

While one group of people will be marching for "our President, Vice President, Military, and First Responders," another group will be marching to "stand against Trump and his minions."

The MAGA March and the Disrupt MAGA Rally Against Trump groups will converge on Independence Hall Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

"This is the chance where you can stand up to all the lies and corruption we face in this very much love nation to be proud to have our freedom and to thank all the men and women who have served and lost their lives in the line of duty to show you care who is coming into this nation with love and care and not terrorism and hate," the MAGA March's Facebook event description reads.

The counter march's event description? Simply: "DISRUPT THE 'MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN' MARCH IN PHILLY! DESTROY TRUMPISM."

Both Facebook events' discussion sections contain commenters who are urging peace, and some who are making jabs at the other event.

As of Thursday afternoon the MAGA March has nearly 430 saying they will attend, while the counter march has just over 275 responding they will attend.
