Watch Live Stream: President Trump Rally In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania On 100th Day In Office
President Donald Trump is holding a rally Saturday, April 29 at Pennsylvania's capital city of Harrisburg to mark 100 days in office.
HARRISBURG, PA — President Donald Trump will hold a rally Saturday in Pennsylvania's capital, on the day that marks his 100th day in office and one that has been the focus of politicians and pundits alike. While Trump has billed the 100-day mark as a "ridiculous standard," he later said he would be holding the rally in Harrisburg to mark the occasion.
Leading up to the 100-day mark, Trump has narrowly avoided a government shutdown, for now, as Congress passed a continuing resolution Friday that funds the government until May 5. Trump's promise to repeal and replace Obamacare also fell short as the House decided not to vote on the bill after failing to gather enough votes in March and Republicans conceded that they once again did not have enough votes to pass the bill and said they would not put a revived version of the bill on the house floor Friday or Saturday. The president had been pushing for a vote by Saturday.
The rally on April 29 will be held at the PA Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in the New Holland Arena, Harrisburg and it begins at 7:30 p.m. The rally is on the same night as the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington, which Trump announced earlier this year that he would not be attending, making him the first president to skip the annual dinner since President Ronald Reagan in 1981. Reagan did not attend the dinner as he was recovering from an assassination attempt but still delivered remarks by phone.

Protesters are expected in Harrisburg. PADems, a Pennsylvania-based Democratic organization, says it is planning a "Rally Against Trump's 100 Days of Broken Promises."

Trump's visit to Pennsylvania follows a victory here in November, the first electoral success by a Republican presidential candidate since 1988. It also comes a year after he commented that Harrisburg looked like a "war zone."
