Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:
- Gunshots rang out through the City of Philadelphia with five people shot in four different shooting incidents from Saturday night into Sunday morning. All gunshot victims are in critical condition. The shootings occurred in Kensington, North Philadelphia, Powelton and Grays Ferry. Police have not made any arrests and are still investigating these crimes. ( 6abc Philadelphia)
- The Blue Pearl Emergency Vet Hospital had been brought a dog that was suffering from a drug overdose. Philadelphia Police responded to an unresponsive and unconscious person on Kensington Avenue and found the dog in the same critical state as the owner. The dog, named "Toodles" by vet staff, is now recovering at the PASPCA after being given a dose of the anti-overdose drug Narcan. (Pennsylvania SPCA )
- Todd Burton, a driver for food delivery apps was sentenced to prison for the hit and run death of Tiffany Reed in January 2020. But while Burton was charged and awaiting sentencing, he continued to work and made almost 1,000 more deliveries with Grubhub and DoorDash. A new lawsuit claims these food delivery apps are not vetting or doing sufficient background checks on their drivers. (inquirer.com)

- Do you know who knows all the 4-1-1 in the neighborhood? Do you know who knows everybody, sees everything and knows your pet's name? Your mailperson! Check out this good read on how neighbors in Society Hill let their mailman, Charles Powell know he was first class-Send-off for beloved Society Hill mailman (inquirer.com)
- Today is the deadline-ACCTPHILLY needs to clear out their dog kennels because a horrid, fast moving canine flu is infecting their dogs in the shelter. C'mon-you need a walking buddy and a bed warmer. (WHYY)
