When You Can Expect Mail-In Ballot Results In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania and Philadelphia are still working to count more than 1 million votes that came in by mail.

Last Tuesday night, Philadelphia officials said while mail-in and absentee ballots were still being counted, numbers stopped being reported early in the evening.

However, officials said mail-in and absentee ballot total updates will be provided.

Officials updated vote tallies at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the city's election website, 580,612 ballots have been cast. Of those ballots, 233,583 have been mail-in ballots.

Additionally, 1,665 of 1,703 voting divisions (or 97 percent) are reporting totals, the website shows.

The city's election website says mail-in totals will be posted Wednesday between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

About 167,200 mail-in votes in Philadelphia are yet to be counted, according to the state.

Officials said election staff will then post results at least twice daily in the coming days at times determined by the Deputy City Commissioners.

Wednesday, more than 1.4 million mail-in ballots remained to be counted in Pennsylvania, including 175,000 in Allegheny County.

The canvass and computations of votes casein Philadelphia will begin at 9 a.m. Friday and continue through the day until all votes are tallied.
