Young Boy Critical After Multi-Car Crash In Philadelphia

A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition after the vehicle he was riding in was involved in a four-car chain reaction crash Monday night.

PHILADELPHIA — A child is fighting for his life after multiple vehicles crashed Monday night in Philadelphia's Frankford neighborhood.

The crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Aramingo Avenue at Wakeling Street, according to Action News.

Police said four vehicles were involved in the crash, will all four in the southbound lanes of Aramingo when the first impact occurred, and three of the four stopped.

The striking vehicle, which was being driven by the injured child's mother, hit at least one of the three stopped vehicles, police said.

The impact caused a chain reaction, involving all four vehicles.

Police said the child, 5, was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

It's unclear if the boy was secured in the vehicle.

A girl, 6, was in one of the vehicles involved but not seriously hurt, according to NBC10.
