Young Philadelphia Actress Goes Green in 'Shrek The Musical'

Phoebe Hanson is making her mainstage debut at the Walnut Street Theatre in Shrek the Musical - playing now through January 5.

Based on the DreamWorks film, Shrek The Musical is the story of a reclusive ogre who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess. Complete with new songs and an outrageous cast of fairy tale characters, this hilarious musical is entertainment for children and adults alike.

Phoebe Hanson is a 5th grade student at Girard Academic Music Program who lives in Mt. Airy. Phoebe is thrilled to perform in her first Walnut production as a member of the children’s ensemble for Shrek the Musical, playing one of the singing seven dwarfs that the heroes meet on their wild adventure. Phoebe’s favorite past productions include The Lion King Jr., Seussical and The Wizard of Oz. Outside of performing, Phoebe loves playing cards and baking.
