1 Chesco Marijuana Dispensary Opening; Phoenixville's On The Way

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville's medical marijuana dispensary will soon be open. In the meanwhile, one is opening this weekend in Devon.

Keystone Shops, located at 420 W. Lancaster Ave. In Devon, will officially open at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Patients seeking their medical marijuana do not need appointments on opening day, according to the dispensary website. All patients who come to the dispensary Saturday will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

Patients must have a their medical marijuana card with a valid issue date. Cards with issue dates later than Feb. 17 will not be accepted.

In Phoenixville, Cure Pennsylvania is setting up shop on 500 Kimberton Road. An opening date has not yet been confirmed for the Phoenixville location, although it is expected to be in 2018, as soon as construction is complete on the new building.

The Devon dispensary was given one of 27 permits granted by the Pennsylvania Department of Health in June 2017 and was also given approval by Easttown Township officials in June.

Earlier in 2018, the dispensary was given the OK to open from the Department of Health, making it the fourth dispensary given the green light.

Patients who want to access medical marijuana must obtain a physician's certification from an approved doctor proving that they suffer from one of 17 serious medical conditions.

The state's medical marijuana program was signed into law in April 2016.

Four other dispensaries in the state – in Butler, Pittsburgh, Bethlehem, and Enola – opened on Feb. 15 and Feb. 16.

A dispensary in Sellersville is also set to open Saturday.
