2016 Unsung Heroes of the Greater Phoenixville Region

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Every community has someone who goes above and beyond when it comes to giving of their time and helping others.

For 16 years, the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation has been honoring “Champions of the Community” by awarding these often overlooked stars of any age – young and old alike -- who volunteer, or otherwise give of their talents, in service to the communities of the greater Phoenixville region. Since the year 2000 when the program was first developed, sixty-eight unsung heroes have been honored as Community Champions, according to a press release.

The Phoenixville Community Health Foundation is currently seeking nominees for the 2016 Champions of the Community Award and needs the public's support in helping find these quiet heroes, the release states.

Perhaps you know of someone who deserves to be recognized – someone who made a personal sacrifice to improve the lives of others, someone who served as a mentor to youth or a role model for others, someone who provides spiritual or moral leadership in the community, or simply someone who has been kind and helpful to others throughout their life.

Both the nominees and awardees will be honored at a luncheon late fall, which is by invitation only. The chosen Champions will each be honored with a $2,000 grant that will be made in their name to a charity of their choice. The deadline for nominations is September 30, so be sure to submit nominations before it’s too late.
